Who says modern cars are useless........
I’m a happy bunny… .. it was my original idea and I’ve bought one, so I don’t care if someone beats me onto the road with one fitted, I had the idea first……. You know the way the ’37 Ford has a horrible pram like roof……
Well many years ago Ali Aspinall in the UK modified her roof so that it finished up like this…….
I quite liked this swoopy roof, and its been in my mind to look at modifying mine to look like this, when the time comes.
Sitting in traffic a while back, I spotted an Audi A4 Cabriolet and thought “that looks like a similar shape"……
The wife of one of the lads in the IKCC drives an A4 cabriolet, so Damo and I went over one evening a while back and took some measurements……to our astonishment, they’re identical in width across the top of the windscreen, and the Audi roof is only 2” longer than the pram roof……
So today....I’ve just bought a dark blue A4 cabriolet roof with all pipes and pumps……..should be delivered in next 7 days……..happy days !!!
Remember, you read it here first !!
If anyone is handy with ye old photoshoppe, screen wont be chopped, but will be angled back by about 20degrees, and Audi roof fitted. |

Its a 5ltr from a Mustang, but its got unknown history, so thinking Lexus V8. Looking at the pics he sent me of the roof, the pumps and pipes are still connected, so hoping by adding a little leccy , we may be able to get movement. I know in the Audi, boot opens and all sorts, but thats controlled by an ECU that costs over 700 Euro....
Trev, if you get a chance to do the photochop, can I choose colours ???
If so I'll have dark blue boonet roof & boot and either silver or peach for the rest. |

Great Idea. That'll suit it for sure. There has to be a way to get that thing moving without the Audi ecu! _________________ Hydrazine |
