1.         What's my best method for drilling a new minor rear cluster to accept the blue dot. Just got a single replacement. Would have went back to red rears, but couldn't get both sides. Don't fancy driving about with one red, one purple, and I don't fancy cracking the new one.

2.         Did you mount the windscreen glass in the Minor yourself? Was it a big job? I guess it may be easier than more modern screens cause of the split, or maybe it's harder and should be left to the professionals?

3.         There are only 2 questions.

number one  I would always use a drill   ... I think I cracked one myself superglue is great stuff .. what about  chain drilling the hole ,and a dremel to clean it up.

the windscreen yes , if i remember it was trickey takes 2 people .,Use strong string feed it around the rubber set the screen on the car and pull the string from the inside with some one pressing on the screen   I will see if I can find a workshop manual it tells you how to do it.  whats up did you bust the screen???

Nah I ain't bust it, it just leaks too much. Got a replacement rubber a while back and I fancied installing it sometime.

And you did indeed crack one, the other one though, lucky me. And for the next stupid question, eh, what's chain drilling, like how is it different from say, normal drilling? Or is it normal drilling that you put a fancy name on?

Thanks for the help.

Chain drilling is useing  a 8th bit and drill the holes very close to each other .When you drill a circle of holes use the drill bit like a rotery file to break though the holes .................................

have you tryed useing a non setting windscreen sealer , that was a new rubber I put in it ,should still be good.

Ah ha, you learn something new everyday. That's a big problem, not knowing what techniques are called. Not working in the industry I have to make everything up. Maybe we'll have you write up some tech articles on the basics

I'm off to get some non setting windscreen sealer. I tried some sort of gunk in there a while back, did nothing but make a mess. Then I lashed on some of that dum-dum stuff you gave es, no effect. I'd be more worried about water being trapped inside between the seals and frame now if I were to finally stop leaks.

Not yet Damien. Was going to go shopping in the morning. Can you recommend a particular brand locally and\or location to purchase said item?

I think what your looking for is called 3M window seal, it comes in a flat roll which looks like an old vinyl record. It costs between €30 & €40 and is available from Southside M.F.

I normally have a roll so you've probably seen it before
